Friday the 13th holds fears for a lot of people, the curse of what might go wrong. The Norse god Loki was not invited to a party of 12, but he turned up and killed someone – pretty unlucky for them. Jesus also had a party for 12, 13 if you count Judas and Jesus died the next day – Good Friday. So 13 has been pretty unlucky for some people in the past, but that doesn’t mean it has to be the same for us.

If, as so many people believe, myself included, we manifest what we think about, then dreading Friday the 13th will surely bring about doom and gloom. Yet, if we start today thinking about the possibilities, the positive outcomes, the great thinks that can happen, then surely we have a better chance of a better outcome.

Funnily enough, none of this is really rocket science! I have a saying – ‘If you do the right thing at the right time you get JOY. If you do the wrong thing at the wrong time you get PAIN’. Once again, this is not rocket science, and yet we often find ourselves doing the wrong thing, even knowing we’re doing it. Yet we still continue to do it!!! Eating that third piece of cake, for instance. Do we really need it? I love cake as more as the next person, more in fact. And there’s no doubt I’ve been guilty of over eating, but that’s in my past.

No more will I self sabotage, knowingly. Zig Ziglar once said ‘I’ve been overweight on purpose for the past 20 years’. He then added ‘when I say on purpose what I mean is – I never accidently eat anything!’.

Can you be present enough to recognise what you’re doing on auto-pilot and stop yourself if it’s not serving you. Can you alter your mindset to make your life better – even if it’s in a teeny tiny way. Once you start – life will never be the same.

Have a great Friday the 13th.

Love and peace,

Paul :O)

It’s a very different day today with the sun shining and clear blue skies making me feel good to be alive …. and breathe!!!

It’s funny how some days your wake up and your knees hurting and you don’t get my exercise done, yet you feel fan-bloody-tastic!!! Which I’m choosing to believe is life’s way of telling me – I’m doing alright. That I’m on track. That I’m gonna achieve my goals for today, for the month, for my life. With this in mind I need to get my new business website up and running – Pulse-Proactive is going to be a site of resources and information. A site of inspiration and achievement for everyone that wants to join in.

The logo’s ready, training is booked to get the website and blog going. Now I just need to engage engines and get it off the grown and get some people to like it, to connect with my vision. This is one of a number of goals I’ve set myself recently and it’s all systems go. So the question then becomes … what goals have you set yourself lately? Or are you costing until you get retired and you have ‘more’ time. Is today the day to finally say – I’m gonna start writing my book, paint my picture, begin my new journey?

Success is defined as:

‘the realisation of an achievable goal’. What’s your achievable goal – small or large. You gotta know where you’re going, but not necessarily how you’re gonna get there. So pick a goal, do it today – in fact do it now. Set yourself an achievable goal and do something now that will bring it just a little bit closer. Make the choice to do something differently today and make your life outstanding.

Have an amazing day.

Love and peace,

Paul :O)

Our new website will soon be up and running and you can get more info here.

Good weather, it seems to me, depends on your perception and what you’re comparing it to. Today it’s cold and foggy and just a thoroughly miserable looking day, but compared to Siberia it’s positively toasty!!!

Compared to some of the lovely sunny days we’ve had lately, I’ll grant you it’s not great and I’m the first to admit it’s not always easy to look on the bright side of life when you can only see 3 feet out of your window. But today’s gonna be a great day. I’ve done my priming to get my mind focused on the good things in life. I’ve done my 15 minutes of cardio to get my heart pumping and ready for the day ahead. Showered, done my emails, FaceBook post and the day is already rocking.

It doesn’t really matter what’s going on outside. Hence it’s what’s going on inside that really matters. Are you starting your day consciously? Do you have a routine that gets you going in a morning or do you fall out of bed having snoozed three times already. Coffee and a fag to start the day?

I’d say to you, be intentional. Start the day as you mean to go on. If there was a fire you’d be up and out of bed! Firstly, set your alarm for the time you want to get up and then GET UP. Secondly, make your day yours, and no matter what the weather, make it an amazing day.

Love and peace,

Paul :O)

Perseverance is a must in the awesome game of life – if you want to end up winning. Whether you believe you’ll meet your maker, or not, one things for sure, one day you’ll look back and ask yourself – was I enough? Did I do enough, achieve enough?

Let me tell you one thing I know for sure – you’re already enough … I GUARANTEE IT!!! You ALWAYS were enough and you’ll ALWAYS be enough. The question then is – do you have the resolve, the fortitude and the desire to go out and become what you were truly destined to be? Can you fill your heart and your life with enough love, hope, joy and fulfillment to look back at the end, or even the middle and be happy with what you see.

As I take stock, as I’m doing right now, I can see an under achiever, procrastinator and a dreamer – who’s not fulfilled his dreams – yet! Now’s the time to step up, not tomorrow, not Monday, not in the New Year. What is it you, and I, really want from our lives and how are we going to get them?

So a couple of questions to ask yourself to help you clarify your future:
  1. What do you want?
  2. Why do you want it?
The WHAT gives you focus and clarity:

Like a boat leaving port knowing where it’s destination is – the goal.

The WHY determines where it’s actually worth your time and effort.

You’ll find that if your goal helps you grow mentally, physically or spiritually and contributes to someone (that could be yourself), but will probably be for others, it’s gonna be easier to find the fulfillment you need, to fulfill your what.

If you why is strong enough and your what has enough meaning then you’ll find the perseverance within. It wont be will power, which is hard to maintain. It’ll be drive, strength and determination to produce the results you’ve been dreaming off.

Go out and change you world – and do it now!!!

Love and peace,

Paul :O)

Getting over illness …so today I’ve woken up full of cold, but am I down heartened – YES!!! My energy is low, my eyes are running and I can’t stop sneezing, hence I’m not feeling great to say the least. That doesn’t mean I’m gonna do nothing. There are things I can still do with a runny nose. So I’ve started the day with my ‘Priming’ and missed out my stretching exercises. Aerobics is definitely not gonna happen, Sitting and writing today’s blog post is.

So it’s all about degrees. How are you gonna show up when life deals you a bum wrap? How are you going to turn a bad day good, a good day awesome and an awesome day into an outstanding day?

Well it all comes down to your standards and what you’re prepared to accept in your life. Is your default level outstanding? Is that where you set your bar and nothing else will do?

Start by thinking about your own standards and what you accept about yourself. Don’t look through rose tinted glasses, but don’t see life as worse than it really is either. Take a long hard look and say NO MORE. No more will I accept the things that I do that self sabotage my efforts. No more will I do the things that hurt me and start now to raise your game, by making a change to something in your life.

It can start with something small. From today I’m no longer going to wear shoes in the house. It’s a small thing, but it takes strength and determination to make a change to something I’ve done ALL my life. What can you change to make a small difference. Something that’s achievable and you can action today, right now.

Getting over illness might not be that simple, but setting you standards high so that you make a lousy day ok, a good day great and a great day outstanding is the way to make your life better in all sorts of ways. The hardest time is when life’s tough, or you’re ill, but that just gives you another great opportunity to say to yourself – today I raise my standards.

Love and peace,

Paul :O)

It’s American Election Day and anything could happen!!! Now, I’m not really into American Politics, but it has got me thinking about what do we want from our leaders and the people we look up to? Strength, determination and power all spring to mind, but do we want more than that? Maybe empathy, compassion and understanding.

Any nation/ company/ person surely is judged on how they handle their problems. I emailed “feedback” to a company, Farm Foods, on Sunday and got a great reply on Monday – outstanding. I gave some feedback to another firm, some time ago, and got an automated reply. It said “your feedback is very important to us – we’ll be in touch with you within 28 days” – not quite so outstanding!!!

America certainly has it’s problems right now and I’m sure you don’t need me to list them for you. Suffice to say I hope America can find the leaders it needs to take it to the place it wants to be and the country it wants to become. I strong American Election day can help all of us move forward together. I divided American will drag us all down.

The American people, like all people, have a responsibility to themselves and to others. No matter what the outcome, to abide by the laws of the land. Peaceful protest by all means, but your personal actions are a reflection of you – for good or for bad.

Have a great day, love and peace.
